| There are more than 800 business incubators in the European Union today. The Enterprise DG launched a benchmarking project in December 2000, focusing on the management and the promotion of incubators. The aim was to identify indicators of their performance, including operational benchmarks. |

| CORDIS offers an easy way to identify the nearest business incubators and contact persons via a simple search feature. Available records cover members of Science Parks and Business and Innovation Centers (BICs) networks. The database, which currently contains around 625 incubators, aims to become the single entry point to all business incubators in Europe. |
