Technological incubators are support organizations that give fledgling entrepreneurs an opportunity to develop their innovative technological ideas and set up new businesses in order to commercialize them. The incubator program is applied in all parts of the country, under the guidance and with the support of the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

JIIC assesses new technologies and facilitates technology transfer from other industries, encourages take up of these new processes by WM and UK industry, provides technical support and training in the use and application of the above, undertakes research and development into innovative manufacturing processes and materials, undertakes consultancy, provides design and development facilities using high and low technology solutions, provides support for West Midlands and UK industry.

KLAK is an incubator center run by the IT company Nýherji focused on incubators within the IT sector. The center rents offices over market price put in steed provides its clients with value added services and in some cases seed capital.

Medici is a Midlands based 2 year Programme to foster climate of entrepreneurship in Universities, particularly in relation to research that has commercial applications in medicine or biosciences. It aims to deliver a cultural change that will boost commercial awareness.

Mercia Spinner has primarily been designed to provide comprehensive support to the exploitation of research from all eight of the Spinner universities. The project has been put into place to explore and protect their ideas, then develop them into fully viable commercial opportunities. The main objective of Mercia Spinner is to create 40 spin-off companies by 2010, generated and shared between all eight universities.
