| Technological incubators are support organizations that give fledgling entrepreneurs an opportunity to develop their innovative technological ideas and set up new businesses in order to commercialize them. The incubator program is applied in all parts of the country, under the guidance and with the support of the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. | ||

| Mercia Spinner has primarily been designed to provide comprehensive support to the exploitation of research from all eight of the Spinner universities. The project has been put into place to explore and protect their ideas, then develop them into fully viable commercial opportunities. The main objective of Mercia Spinner is to create 40 spin-off companies by 2010, generated and shared between all eight universities. | ||
