| Academic - Industry Profile The Region is responsible for Regional development in Vastra Gotaland. The Region has also regional responsibilty concerning the Regional Growth Agreements. The Growth Agreements are a new form of active co-operation for better economic growth in Vastra Gotaland Region and its various sub-regions. Regional and sub-regional partnerships are organised with participation from the Region, universities and university colleges, cities and municipalities, together with the private sector (organisations, companies, etc). There is a strong link between the RDS and the Regional Growth Agreement. The propsed Thematic Network addresses several of these important issues found in the RITTS study. It would therefore be of great value for the Region to provide discussion partners, examples of best practice and knowledge transfer. The propsed Network would be an excellent possibility to: * Disseminate the fings and results from differnt RIS/RITTS-projects concerning Academic and Industrial links. * Exchange of methods and best practice examples of technology transfer from R&D, science parks, incubators, clusters, etc. * Establish transnation collaboration on innovation issues. Later on it could also be extended to various groups of SMEs, research institutes etc in each region. * Diffuse information in the region to various institutions and organisations. The Region can in co-operation with cities, municipalities, universities, industrial research insitutes, etc, arrange conferences, meetings or study visits in Vastra Gotaland Region. In the field of innovation, the Region has a strong regional network with various partners. Thus we can provide more in-depth knowledge on specific issues. Our partnership could for example include: the Swedish Institute of Production Engineering Research (manager of RITTS Western Sweden and fostering innovation in SMEs in the fields of technology, quality mamangement, etc), Technology Links Foundation (supporting commercialisation actions from R&D, supporting entrepeneurship among students in the universities, etc), ALMI Vast Ltd (business,advice to SMEs, finance to SMEs etc), Connect West (spring boards for entrepeneurs, investement forum, etc), Chalmers Innovation (incubator and business support to technology based start-ups), Business and Innovation Centre (business dveleopment to new and existing innovative companies). |
